DESERT ADVENTURES
DESERT ADVENTURES
Written By Kas Winner
Vermillion Cliffs man, 1 CD, 12 songs, 2 friends, and more time in the car than you can imagine in 1 weekend. Nothing got old. Everything was constantly new and exciting. Of course we had to bring the couch on this expedition. That fact wasn’t even questioned. First night he chilled alone in the back of the pick- up. We pulled off on the side of the road for some Z’s, too tired to care about anything else besides shutting our eyes. Next day, mission find the swirls was in full gear. Lindsey, a geology nerd, obessed over this eroded desert destination for months. TAPcouch was ready for the adventure – light enough to carry and transport wherever we needed him to go.
After various activities, hitchhiking adventures (leaving drivers no choice by blocking the road), and finding “alien” remains we found ourselves alone in the heart of the wild. That night, we created quite the room/kitchen area – overlooking the vast emptiness of the desert but still feeling right at home. We watched the sun set and the moon rise that night, talking about various aspects of life. All from the comfort and protection of our outdoor couch. Many memories were made that trip, a helping of stories were told. Forgetting what we once thought were problems, getting away from society’s influence, cleansing our thoughts, recruiting Nature as a mentor to help guide us in the right direction of this puzzle we call life.
Thanks TAPcouch
